PlaceMKR, a flourishing commercial real estate and investment company in Austin, Texas, has announced the hiring of Anthony Short as the Senior Project Manager. Anthony has nearly 20 years of experience in the Construction and Development industry, along with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Cost Management from the Queensland University of Technology and an MBA from the University of Queensland. Prior to Anthony’s relocation to Austin in 2019, he managed the development of over 2,500 residential apartments and condominiums, one million square feet of retail property, and close to two million square feet of office space. Additionally, he has worked on several industrial projects and land subdivisions in his home country of Australia. Most recently in Austin, Anthony was working as the Senior Project Manager on a $200 million office campus project for the State of Texas.
Anthony’s extensive experience in the Construction industry has provided him with skills in Contract and Risk Management, Construction Financial management, and schedule management—all skills that will be valuable assets to the team at PlaceMKR. He also possesses strong design management expertise and will be able to contribute to the development and engineering processes as the Senior Project Manager at PlaceMKR. Anthony will immediately be tasked with managing the construction on the company’s ground-up and value-add office, multifamily and industrial projects.
